Receiving our certificate at the HQS award ceremony on the 6th April 2014
We are delighted to inform you that High Elms Manor School has completed the HQS journey and been awarded the Hertfordshire Quality Standards accreditation (HQS) April 2014. The HQS is a county led scheme that ensures childcare providers are constantly improving and developing through a process of self-evaluation. This process includes completing the EYFS Audits, the Environment Rating Scale audit visit, the modules - Driving Quality Improvement, Supporting Every Child, Developing an Enabling Environment and Securing Children's Progress and the End Review visit.
The HQS award recognises the quality of our early years practice and provision. It is a scheme that allows early years practitioners and providers the opportunity to reflect on practice in consultation with parents, children and the wider school community in order to grow and develop services.
What does it mean to me as a parent?
Quality services in the early years have been shown to improve achievement for children later in life. Knowing that your child is safe, well looked-after and developing well with the support of their childcare provider gives you essential peace of mind.
A big thank you must go to our wonderful Early Years Foundation Stage team, for all of their time and hard work during the accreditation process, which began in April 2013. Thank you also to all of the parents and carers that contributed to the consultation process.
